Enzo Lopes to Star Racing | News 6

Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing confirm Enzo Lopes signing.

It has been rumored for what feels like an eternity, but Enzo Lopes has just been announced as a Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider for the 2024 Monster Energy Supercross season. Lopes could be named the breakthrough star of this year – he flourished in 250SX West and raced to fourth in the final standings. Fourth was his season-best finish (San Diego, Seattle and Denver).

The reason that this comes as a surprise to some is the fact that he was confirmed as a ClubMX rider for 2024 towards the end of May. Circumstances have changed, however, and Lopes took advantage of an open seat beneath the powerhouse Star Racing tent. The athlete who will wear '50' in 2024 will, of course, forgo the remainder of the FIM World Supercross Championship.

"I am super excited to join the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing team for 2024," Lopes said in a team statement. "Growing up in Brazil, it has always been my dream to represent a factory team and to make that a reality with the best makes me eager to work even harder. I have been training with Swanie [Gareth Swanepoel] and the team for a couple of days now and it has been awesome. I know I have what it takes to win and, with the right team and program around me, the sky is the limit. I cannot wait to go racing!"
