Abu Dhabi Added to 2023 World Supercross Schedule | French GP Cancelled 2

A shake-up just days away from the opening round of the 2023 WSX series

We're just a few days away from the opening round of the 2023 World Supercross Championship, with the first round set to be held in the UK. While this new doesn't concern the opening round, it does involve the one following it. As was rumored last week, it looks like the French round of the series has been called off quietly and replaced with a round in Abu Dhabi later in the season. This means the third round in Singapore has been moved up to round two along with subsequent events. Abu Dhabi will slot in as round five, between the Canadian GP and the finale in Australia.

This means there will be around a 90-day break between the opening round of the series and the new round two, and also an interesting note is Abu Dhabi is home to the series' main financial backers Mubadala Capital. The series made a formal announcement for the Abu Dhabi GP but the only words related to the French GP's status were found on their site under the old listing for round.

"Due to unforeseen scheduling and logistical challenges, the FIM 2023 World Supercross French GP has been postponed until further notice.

All French GP ticketholders will be contacted by Ticketmaster and will be eligible for a full face-value refund as per Ticketmaster’s refund policy.

WSX sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused by this unavoidable scheduling change and remains fully committed to bringing the FIM World Supercross Championship to France very soon.

We appreciate your unwavering support, and we look forward to delivering an unforgettable French GP for our fans in the near future.  More details of this to follow soon."
